Immunotherapy
Allison’s and Honjo’s discoveries constitute a paradigmatic shift and a landmark in the fight against cancer and won the 2018 Nobel Prize for pioneering an entirely new way to treat cancer.
Harnessing your body’s defenses to fight your cancer.

What is Immunotherapy?
Your immune system is a formidable defense. It responds to foreign invaders, like bacteria and viruses, with a targeted response to keep you healthy. Cancer researchers have developed treatments that acti-vate or turn on your immune system to fight cancer cells throughout your body — an approach called “immunotherapy.”
Why is Immunotherapy Important ?
While your immune system identifies bacteria, viruses, and other invaders as foreign, your cancer cells are your own cells that have developed abnormally. As a result, the immune system may not see them as foreign, enabling the cancer cells to evade detection and destruction by your immune system. Im-munotherapies are designed to help your immune system “see” cancer cells so they can be destroyed. Some cancer cells suppress the immune response; we now have immunotherapies that work by taking this power away from cancer cells, allowing the immune system to kick into gear.
By discovering how to turn on the immune system with specific drugs, we are now curing cancers that were not curable just five years ago, and expanding our approaches for treating cancer in ways that were unheard of until recently.
- It helps to decrease the side effects caused by conventional treatments – Chemotherapy / Radi-otherapy / Surgery.
- It helps to control / decrease the recurrence and metastasis rate of a particular type of cancer depending on the patient’s body response.
- It can be taken or combined with any other definitive treatment for cancer – helps in achieving good results in the shortest possible time.
- Checkpoint Modulators
- Therapeutic Antibodies
- Immune Cell Therapy (CAR T-Cell Therapy)
- Cancer Treatment Vaccines
- Immune System Modulators
- DC-CIK (Dendritic Cells & Cytokine-induced killer cells) Immunotherapy
- NK (Natural Killer cells) Immunotherapy
